Watching television will never be the same again as 3-D TVs promise to make it a whole new experience!
Thursday,
April 22, 2010: The technology that may revolutionise the way we watch
TV is finally about to go public! The first batch of 3-D TVs will go on
sale today after retailers and firms preponed their launch dates to
entice consumers to embrace this innovative technology.
Electronics
giant Samsung stormed ahead of its rivals LG, Panasonic and Sony by
suddenly bringing forward the launch of its 3-D TVs to today.
The
South Korean group had previously planned to launch its £1,800 C7000
model on 27 April, 2010, with an expensive advertising campaign.
The
100 cm (40") TV will go on sale today at the famous retailer John
Lewis's flagship Oxford Street store, reports the Telegraph. Consumers
would be able to buy it at other John Lewis stores and selected Comet
and Curry's shops from the weekend. The slight dampener is that to watch
any content in 3-D consumers will have to fork out an extra £349 on a
Blu-Ray player as no content is currently broadcast in 3-D. There is a
special offer though. If customers buy both, consumers would be offered
two pairs of special glasses-for the 3D effect – and a 3-D DVD of
Monsters vs Aliens for free.
